Owens Corning Gutter Replacement: The Orange County Owner’s Guide

If your Owens Corning gutters are pulling away from the fascia, leaking at the seams, or dropping water where they shouldn’t, we can replace them. A full Owens Corning-compatible gutter replacement in Orange County typically runs $1,800 to $4,200 installed for a standard single-story home, depending on linear footage and whether we’re swapping just the gutters or the downspouts too. Most owners discover the problem during the first real rain of the season, when water spills over the edge instead of flowing to the downspout. That’s usually when the phone rings.

We’re an independent Orange County roofing company, not a division of Owens Corning. But we install and replace their gutter products regularly, and we know exactly which components fail, why they fail, and what it costs to make it right.

Which Owens Corning Models This Applies To

Owens Corning doesn’t manufacture gutters under their own brand name the way they do shingles. Their gutter offering comes through the Owens Corning Roofing System, which pairs their shingles with a matching set of aluminum or steel gutters and downspouts, typically 5-inch or 6-inch K-style profiles. If your home was reroofed in the last 10 to 15 years and the contractor installed the full Owens Corning system, the gutters are nearly always 5-inch aluminum K-style with a baked-on enamel finish matched to the shingle color. That’s the part we replace most.

The compatibility gotcha: Owens Corning’s system works with standard-profile K-style hangers and miters, which means a quality OEM-spec or contractor-grade aftermarket gutter from a major manufacturer fits without modification. You don’t need an “Owens Corning-only” gutter. What matters is the profile match (K-style, 5-inch or 6-inch), the material gauge (.027 aluminum or heavier), and the color match to the remaining sections. We measure on site, confirm the profile, and give you a written price before we order a single stick of metal. Greg Holloway walks every gutter job personally before quoting. That’s not a formality; it’s how we avoid the classic mistake of matching the wrong brown to your fascia and pretending nobody will notice.

Signs Your Owens Corning Gutter Replacement Is Failing

  • Water spilling over the lip during steady rain. This usually means the hangers have pulled loose from the fascia or the slope has settled out of pitch. Gutters need about a quarter inch of fall per 10 feet to drain. When that slope dies, water pools and spills. The fix is re-pitching or replacing the affected run.
  • Seams separating at the corners or end caps. Older Owens Corning system installs used sealant at the miters. In Orange County’s summer heat, that sealant bakes, hardens, and cracks. October’s first real rain finds every compromised seam. Seamless replacement sections eliminate the problem permanently.
  • Sagging or visibly tilted sections. If you can see daylight between the gutter and the fascia board, the hangars have either backed out or rusted through. This is a gravity problem more than a gutter problem, and it gets worse quickly once water weight adds up. We inspect the fascia at the same time; if the board is rotted, we tell you and address it before hanging new gutter on soft wood.
  • Fascia staining and streaking below the gutter line. Brown drip lines on the painted fascia mean water is getting behind the gutter, not into it. The culprit is usually a failed drip edge or missing apron flashing where the roof meets the gutter. Replacing the gutter without fixing the drip edge wastes your money. We check both.
  • Paint peeling or mineral crust on the gutter exterior. Orange County’s marine layer in coastal towns like Dana Point and San Clemente delivers a steady diet of salt air and morning condensation. Over time, cheap factory enamel fails, pinholes form, and the metal starts to corrode. Once corrosion sets in, repair patches are a short-term bandage; replacement is the honest fix.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what we tell Orange County homeowners before we start a gutter replacement.

Scope Typical Installed Range
Replace one 30-foot run, 5-inch aluminum K-style $450 – $700
Full gutter replacement, single-story home (120 – 160 linear feet) $1,800 – $2,800
Full gutter plus downspouts, two-story sections included $2,600 – $4,200
Fascia repair or replacement (per 10-foot section, if needed) $150 – $350

Those numbers include the tear-off and haul-away of the old gutters, all hangers and hardware, the new aluminum or steel sections, downspouts where specified, and labor. We use .027 gauge aluminum as the baseline; .032 is available for homes near the coast where salt air moves faster. Your written price comes before any work starts, and it doesn’t change unless we open up the fascia and find rot we couldn’t see from the outside. If that happens, we stop, show you, and give you the number before we go further. That’s the Kingswell Way: say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, and put the guarantee in writing. Every gutter replacement carries our written guarantee, and if a leak or a bracket fails inside the 365-day window, we come back and fix it at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise.

DIY or Call Us?

Gutter replacement isn’t a high-tension hazard like a garage door spring, but it has its own ways of hurting you. The work happens on a ladder, at height, with a 10-foot piece of sharp metal in your hands. Most gutter-related injuries we hear about are ladder falls, not cuts. If you’re steady on a ladder and the gutter is on a single-story section with flat ground below, you can safely clean it, check the slope with a level, and clear the downspout yourself. That maintenance is fine to do.

Where DIY goes wrong is on two-story sections, any spot where the ground slopes away, or when the fascia behind the gutter is soft and needs replacement. You can’t re-hang a gutter onto rotted wood and expect it to hold. We’ve also seen plenty of homeowners buy a 10-foot section from the home center, hang it with the wrong brackets, and then call us when the first rain rips it down. If you’re comfortable checking and cleaning, do it. If you need the gutter replaced and want it sealed, pitched, and matched to your Owens Corning shingle color the first time, call us at (559) 295-5445. We’ll walk the site, take measurements, and hand you a written quote. You get the price before we touch a shingle. That’s how it starts, and that’s how we stay.
