Tamko Gutter Replacement: The Orange County Owner’s Guide

Tamko gutter replacement in Orange County typically runs $8 to $14 per linear foot installed, with most single-family homes landing between $900 and $2,400 depending on gutter run length and accessibility. We stock Tamko-compatible aluminum and steel gutter profiles on the truck, so most replacements are completed in a single visit. Homeowners usually discover the failure the hard way: a sagging run pulling away from the fascia after a Santa Ana wind event, or water sheeting off the roof edge during heavy rain because the gutter is too far gone to catch anything.

If you’re standing in your driveway looking up at a Tamko gutter that’s separated, rusted through, or dented beyond function, you’re not chasing a repair. You’re replacing the run. This page tells you exactly what that costs here in Orange County, what we replace it with, and how long it takes. Greg Holloway and our crew handle Tamko gutter replacements across the county every week, from older coastal homes in Laguna Niguel and Dana Point to newer tracts around Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Lake Forest.

Which Tamko Models This Applies To

Tamko doesn’t sell gutters under the Tamko name. What you have is a home where the gutter system was installed alongside a Tamko roofing product, or a contractor used Tamko flashing and drip edge with a standard gutter profile. The gutter itself is almost always 5-inch or 6-inch aluminum K-style, which is the industry standard for residential Orange County roofing. The Tamko connection comes through the roof-to-gutter connection points: the drip edge, the flashing, and the underlayment that feeds water into the gutter channel.

Here’s what matters: if your roof has Tamko shingles, underlayment, or edge metal, the gutter replacement needs to integrate with those existing materials, not just swap in a generic trough. We carry both 5-inch and 6-inch K-style profiles in multiple colors, along with the matching end caps, miters, downspouts, and brackets. The 6-inch profile handles more volume, which matters on two-story homes and long runs where a 5-inch gutter can’t keep up in a hard Orange County downpour. We’ll measure your run and match the profile before we quote, so you’re not paying for a size you don’t need or getting one that’s undersized.

Tilehurst Roofing Orange County is an independent local roofing business and is not affiliated with Tamko. We work with Tamko roofing materials alongside products from GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Atlas, IKO, and Boral, which means we see how these systems interact on real homes, not in a catalog.

Signs Your Tamko Gutter Replacement Is Failing

  • Sagging or pulling away from the fascia. This is the most common failure we see in Orange County. Wood fascia behind the gutter rots over years of minor overflow, the screws lose their bite, and the whole run starts to lean. Once it’s visibly sagging, the fall is wrong and water pools instead of draining.
  • Water spilling over the front edge during rain. That’s not a clog, necessarily. A gutter that’s too narrow for its roof area, or one that’s lost its pitch, will overflow even when clean. We see this a lot on older Orange County homes with original gutters on newer, heavier roofing.
  • Rust streaks or pinholes along the bottom. Steel gutters and older aluminum with worn coating start to rust at the seams and low points. The pinholes leak slowly at first, then wider. You’ll see brown staining below the gutter line on your stucco or siding.
  • Seam separation at corners or joints. Sectional gutters are joined at corners and along long runs. The sealant breaks down, the metal shifts in heat, and water drips through the joints. It’s a slow drip that stains walls and invites wood decay.
  • Downspouts pulling loose or disconnected. When the lower elbow separates from the downspout, water dumps at the foundation instead of away from it. In Orange County’s clay-heavy soils, that means foundation movement and slab cracks over time.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here in Orange County, you should expect to pay between $8 and $14 per linear foot for a complete Tamko-compatible gutter replacement installed. A typical single-story ranch with 120 to 160 feet of gutter runs lands between $1,000 and $2,200. A two-story home with more roof edge, taller ladder work, and longer downspout runs runs $1,800 to $3,400. Those numbers include removal of the old run, new gutters, downspouts, brackets, sealing, and cleanup.

What drives the range? The size of the profile, total linear footage, whether we’re replacing fascia board that’s rotted behind the old gutters (common on older coastal homes), and how high the roof edge sits. We give you a written line-item price before we touch a single fastener. No change orders, no surprise add-ons when the crew arrives. You get the price before we touch a shingle. That’s how it starts, and that’s how we stay.

Every gutter replacement we install is covered by our written guarantee and the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not done right, we make it right, for a full year after the job.

DIY or Call Us?

A homeowner can safely inspect the visible signs: sagging, rust, separation, and overflow patterns. You can also clear debris and check that downspouts aren’t clogged. I’d encourage that. What I wouldn’t do is try to replace a full gutter run on a ladder. Gutter work means working at roof edge height, often on a slope, with metal that has sharp cut edges. The injuries we hear about are falls from ladders and deep cuts from handling raw aluminum.

The reason to call us isn’t just safety. It’s fit. A gutter that isn’t sized and pitched correctly will fail again, and you’ll be back on the ladder in a year. We measure, match, and install in one visit, and if anything fails inside the guarantee period, we return at no charge. Call (559) 295-5445 for a free estimate.
