This page is for homeowners who own an Atlas roof, have a problem, and want straight answers about what’s wrong, what it costs, and how long it takes. If your roof is leaking, missing shingles, or showing signs of wear near the flashing, call us at (559) 295-5445. Greg Holloway and our crew answer the phone around the clock.

How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

Atlas makes solid roofing products, but every brand has its weak points. Here’s what we see most often on Orange County homes, based on years of repair work from Laguna Niguel to Mission Viejo:

  • Pinnacle Pristine shingle granule loss. Atlas Pinnacle Pristine is a popular architectural shingle, but we regularly find excessive granule loss on south-facing slopes in Orange County after 10 – 14 years of intense sun exposure. The granules protect the asphalt from UV breakdown. Once they wear away, the shingle dries out, curls, and cracks. Our fix is replacing the failed shingles with color-matched Atlas stock where available, or a correct aftermarket match when the original color has been discontinued. We’ll tell you before ordering which one it’ll be.
  • StormMaster Shake curling at the eave. The Atlas StormMaster Shake line mimics cedar shakes, but the thicker profile traps more heat. Homes in inland Orange County, especially around Mission Viejo and Rancho Santa Margarita, see curling at the eave edges first because that’s where attic heat escapes. We flatten or replace curled tabs and check the attic ventilation while we’re up there, because a poorly vented attic will curl the replacement shingles too.
  • GlassMaster seal failures at the nail line. Atlas GlassMaster shingles have an adhesive seal strip that locks each course down. On older installations, that seal dries out. The shingles separate, and wind-driven rain walks right under them. The fix is resealing or replacing the lifted shingles. It’s a quick job, but if left alone, it turns into a decking replacement.
  • Flashing failures at roof-to-wall intersections where Atlas shingles meet stucco. Most Orange County homes are stucco, and the transition between a shingle roof and a stucco wall is where we get called about leaks most often. The step flashing behind stucco corrodes or separates over time. We’ll strip back the affected shingles, inspect the flashing, replace rusty sections, and reinstall with proper overlap. This is a repair we’d rather do correctly once, because the cheap fix is just more caulk.
  • Valley wear on Atlas glass fiber matting. Valleys carry a lot of water during Orange County’s winter rain bursts, and over time the shingle’s fiberglass mat shows through at the bend. It looks like a darker stripe running the length of the valley. We can often replace the affected shingles in the valley. If the decking underneath is soft, we’ll replace that section of wood and rebuild the valley with new underlayment.

Our Atlas Roof Repair Process

We follow a process that keeps the work honest, including the price. Here’s how a typical Atlas repair goes from start to finish:

  1. 1
You call us and describe the problem. A live person answers. It might be Greg Holloway, it might be a crew lead, but it’s never a voicemail.
  2. 2
We schedule a walk-through. Greg walks every job site before quoting. He wants to see the slope, the flashing, the attic if it’s accessible, and the condition of the Atlas shingles around the problem area. Walking the roof first means the written price is based on what’s actually up there.
  3. 3
We give you a written price before any work starts. Line items, material choices, and the number. If the repair needs Atlas OEM stock, we’ll tell you. If a quality aftermarket equivalent makes more sense and keeps the cost down, we’ll tell you that too.
  4. 4
We do the repair. Background-checked, uniformed technicians handle the work. We explain what we’re doing in plain language as we go: drip edge, decking, underlayment, flashing, ridge cap. No mystery words.
  5. 5
We test and document. We water-test wherever practical, document the repair with photos, and leave the property clean. Before we leave, you get a written guarantee on the repair that covers us coming back at no charge if it fails inside the guarantee period.

What Atlas Roof Repair Costs in Orange County

Most Atlas roof repairs on Orange County homes fall between $285 and $680, depending on what we find once we’re on the roof.

  • Small shingle replacement: $285 – $420
  • Flashing repair at a wall or chimney: $375 – $600
  • Flat roof patch on a Atlas-equipped mixed roof: $340 – $550
  • Valley repair (shingles plus underlayment): $450 – $680

What moves the price is access, the number of layers on the roof, the condition of the decking underneath, and whether we need OEM Atlas materials or a suitable aftermarket equivalent. You’ll know the exact number before we start. Call (559) 295-5445 to schedule a free estimate.

Why Orange County Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Orange County for Atlas Work

We’re part of the Kingswell family of roofing companies, founded in 2000, and every location operates under the Kingswell Guarantee. That means the price is in writing before the job, the guarantee is in writing before we leave, and we come back if the repair fails inside the guarantee period under our 365-Day Done Right Promise. The Kingswell Way is simple: say the price before the work, show up in the window we gave, leave the place cleaner than we found it, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. We carry material options from seven major manufacturers, including Atlas, GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Tamko, and Boral, so if an Atlas replacement part is backordered, we can offer you a real alternative. You get the price before we touch a shingle. That’s how it starts, and that’s how we stay.
